Third eye

The Third Eye Chakra is connected to intuition, awareness and trusting what we feel and know within ourselves.

Unlike the other women in my Chakra Series, I created the Third Eye as a young Black girl. She is the only child in the series and represents that childlike part of us that hasn't yet learned to question everything we feel that instinctive part of ourselves that simply knows.

I surrounded her with shades of indigo, purple and amethyst because I wanted to give that energy a face I could connect with.

When I focus on my Third Eye Chakra, I picture her as a reminder to listen to my intuition and trust what I feel, even when I can't always explain it.

Created using my Thread Blending technique, the layers of thread represent the depth and different ways we can see and understand ourselves and the world around us.

She reminds me that sometimes we already know the answer. We just need to quiet everything else long enough to hear it.

Trust what you feel. Trust what you see. And most importantly, trust yourself.
