The Crown Chakra is connected to spiritual awareness, inner peace and our connection to something greater than ourselves.

I created her as a Black woman surrounded by shades of violet and soft light because I wanted to give that energy a face I could connect with.

When I focus on my Crown Chakra, I picture her as a reminder to quiet my mind, be present and trust that I don't always need to have everything figured out.

I wanted her to feel like a queen. I used wadding to create the shape, volume and natural curls of her hair, then painted it with acrylic before covering it with tiny pieces of thread using my thread blending technique. I finished her with wool and embellishments, celebrating her beauty, her hair and the queen I see when I picture her.

She reminds me that sometimes I don't need to search for an answer or try to control what comes next.

I can simply be still, trust and allow.
