Notting Hill Carnival
2023–Present

In 2023, Karla was appointed as an Official Judge for Notting Hill Carnival, one of Europe’s largest and most historic street festivals.

Serving alongside Head Judge Rhonda Leon Allen and fellow adjudicators Allyson Williams, Elsa James, Leroy Thompson and Michael the Adjudicator, Karla contributes to the evaluation of artistic presentation, craftsmanship and cultural expression across participating groups.

This ongoing appointment positions her within a framework of cultural authority and community leadership, expanding her practice beyond making into artistic assessment at a national level.
