FREEDOM

A large-scale sculptural installation exploring how spiritual beings adapt, survive and protect their consciousness within a physical and conditioned world. We enter this world free.
As children, we move without fear guided by curiosity, instinct and imagination.

Yet through socialisation, we are gradually introduced to fear, insecurity, anxiety and limitation. While contrast is necessary for growth, we exist within systems that often condition us away from our innate power. Freedom reflects the ongoing negotiation between spirit and structure between infinite possibility and societal constraint.

The baby represents pure freedom the untouched essence of self.
The towering figure behind him embodies consciousness the higher awareness that exists within and beyond the physical form.
The elongated stem acts as a tether to the Universe, symbolising an unbroken connection to source.

The two warriors stand as protectors. They guard the child’s consciousness from external forces that attempt to distort, suppress or redirect it.

First exhibited as part of Cornwall’s debut solo exhibition, Flow: The Art of Letting Go, South Kensington, London (2022).
