In 2017, Karla presented work in Emotions in Colour, a joint exhibition with artist Ainsley Yearwood at Campbells of London in South Kensington.

The exhibition showcased early thread-based canvas works and marked a period of experimentation in material layering and texture, further developing the fibre language that would later define her sculptural practice.

This exhibition represented an important collaborative phase within her early development.
