AVATAR: A STUDY IN PERCEPTION

An interactive sculptural work exploring projection, perception and the subjective nature of energy.

This piece invites the viewer to confront their own interpretation.
Is he benevolent or dangerous?
What energy does he carry?
What powers might he possess?
What would you name him?

Rather than imposing a narrative, the work functions as a mirror — revealing how individual perception shapes meaning. Viewers were encouraged to record their responses on a board positioned beside the figure, collectively constructing the Avatar’s identity through audience interpretation.

The work challenges binary thinking of “good” or “bad,” asking instead: what does your response reveal about you?

First presented during Karla’s solo exhibition, where audience interaction became an integral part of the experience.
